All children must come to school in full school uniform for their class photos. For more information about this year's photographers please visit: https://vancols.com/school-photography/. Children who have PE or Forest School timetabled on this day should bring their PE kit or outdoor clothing to school in a separate bag to change into.
Please note the nursery will be a designated polling station on Thursday 7th May in order to accommodate the London local elections, and so will be closed on this day. All children in Reception to Year 6 are expected to come to school as usual. The nursery will re-open as usual on Friday 8th May.
Year 5 Onyx Class will perform in a special sharing assembly for their parents/carers to showcase their most recent learning. We hope you will be able to join us.
The London Fire Brigade will visit our school to host workshops for children in Year 2 and Year 5. Children will learn more about the importance of fire safety, what to do in a fire emergency and what it is like to work for the fire services.
Year 6 SATs exams take place during the week commencing Monday 11th May (Monday to Thursday). All Year 6 children must arrive at school by 8am on all four of these days, a healthy breakfast will be provided. Children in Year 5 and Year 6 will be invited to attend cycle training across 2 weeks. More information will follow shortly.
Year 5 Quartz Class will perform in a special sharing assembly for their parents/carers to showcase their most recent learning. We hope you will be able to join us.
All children must complete at least one home learning project each half term. Star chart stars will be awarded for all incredible home learning efforts. A printed copy of your child’s Home Learning Passport will be sent home during the first week back, please follow the instructions carefully as most projects are now uploaded as an image to Google Classroom.
Children who have been awarded their Gold Star Award by Friday 15 May will be invited to participate in the 2026 Headteacher’s Awards.All participants will be sent a letter with guidance about how to participate, please remember to complete the form accepting your invitation.
All lost property will be available in the front playground and must be collected before the end of term. Any items which have not been collected on the last day of term will be disposed of or donated over the upcoming break.
All families are encouraged to walk, scoot or cycle to school during Walk to School Week. The fantastic initiative aims to promote road safety awareness, exercise and healthy lifestyle, reduce emissions and pollution, don’t forget to look for some wildlife on your journey to school too! We would love to see pictures of your walk and wheel to school, or perhaps from a nice long walk on Friday's Inset Day - do share them in an email to homelearning@devonshirehill.haringey.sch.uk.
Following our school spelling bee competition, the top 3 pupils will represent Devonshire Hill in an interschool Spelling Bee. Participants will compete against children from other local schools. This will be a wonderful opportunity for children to build confidence, celebrate their achievements, and take pride in representing our school. All children must be collected at 1.15pm on Thursday 9 July to accommodate an informal parents/carers afternoon. This will be an open invitation to visit your child’s classroom, collect their End of Year Report and exercise books - please remember to bring a bag to help you carry the books home.
Families invited to: visit their child(ren)'s classroom, collect their child's End of Year Report, collect their children's completed exercise books, and have an informal chat with their class teacher(s).
